 When Vans started in 1966, its target market was primarily male action sports athletes. Now those demographics have shifted to preteens and teenagers of all genders.  

While Vans still promotes and targets the action sports market, their shoes have become part of youth culture and are targeted to and desired by teens of all cultures, ethnicities, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Vans shoes typically range in price from around $30 to $70 which makes them affordable for most consumers.
