 Many brands come to mind when it comes to an evoked set of shoes in the action sports and casual lifestyle market. The biggest competitors to Vans include  Nike, Converse, Adidas, and New Balance. Even though Vans is the oldest running skateboarding shoe company starting in 1966 where as Nike started its skateboarding program in 2002 and Adidas in 2006. The household name of these two large brands has made them big contenders within the industry.
